This box contains a collection of Esperanto learning materials, both printed material and phonograph records, along with some other Esperanto-related items and student notes. The primary Esperanto course is the “Connor Course,” dated 1950, containing unused answer paper and return envelopes, a comb-bound volume titled “Study Guide” (82 pages), and eight 78 rpm phonograph records. Based on contemporaneous advertising the course appears to be missing a card game, a certificate of achievement, and a “lively text” titled “Esperanto: The World Interlanguage,” although this title also appears on the study guide. The smaller course consists of an undated 78 rpm phonograph record titled “Pronunciation Disk” and an accompanying five-sheet guide issued by the Esperanto Association of North America. In addition to these two courses the creator of this collection has included a seven-inch 33 1/3 rpm phonograph record titled “Korspiro” (1984), two sheets of lyrics from “Korspiro” dated 29 August 1984, and two sheets of student notes. The box itself appears to have been the original container for the Connor Course and is stamped with the Esperanto Association of America’s name and address. housed 20241206 folder/container Original envelope containing the pronunciation disk materials, an empty inner envelope, a stiff cardboard backing for the pronunciation disk, and a small empty envelope that accompanied the student notes have been discarded. pda lhmtat digitized 20241206 pda lhmtat |
